Because some folks have a sensitivity/intolerance to capsicum. It blisters the inside of my mouth. I taste no flavor, I only experience pain. I just bought one of these marvelous plants and now I get why everyone loves Jalepenos so much. If you can taste the flavor, that's delicious. But I have never tasted it long enough to experience it before today. I have a fractional second of flavor, then intense burning pain, with even the mildest of hot peppers... and sometimes even too much black pepper.

It's actually a very odd experience to eat one of these.... my nose is screaming at my brain DANGER! But the pain isn't arriving. It's quite tasty!
