You can bottom water (park the pot in a low bowl full of water for half an hour) or you can find a pot that is just wider than the plant, and then aim the water at the soil (only). There is a very serious risk of stem rot if you allow water to be regularly trapped in the rosette. When in doubt after you water or it rains, a quick puff of air can work wonders.
