Our neighbors dropped by last night. She'd been sick with "flu" for nearly 8 weeks. She said the doctor ran all kinds of tests when she didn't get any better and began to have severe aches and couldn't climb the stairs. There were a lot more symptoms, but I was still wrapped around her diagnosis of Typhus. I asked her how the doctor thinks she could have gotten it. Since she has a big dog that she walks every evening, he thinks she may have picked it up from the dog, who somehow brought it home.

We live in an area near Barton Creek that's filled with wildlife. I'm wondering if the the dog, who stays outside a good part of the day, might have picked up fleas from some varmit and brought them in to the house. One more thing to think about when I'm outside working in the garden. 'And one more thing that might be an effect of the drought.
