I bought 3 climbing spinach plants and 3 of a different variety of the purple hyacinth bean; planted in 2 big pots and put by Mom's garden arch. The hyacinth beans took off pretty good. I am not too impressed by the climbing spinach. Probably would be better off to pick the leaves and eat them. What I did NOT count on were all the volunteer purple hyacinth bean plants that came up from seeds that fell out last fall. Oh, my..............they are going crazy. I'm tying and winding around as I can. Looks pretty impressive, I think. On the top they've shaded the solar collector for the lights I have hanging from the top. So much growth that I probably can't see the lights anyway.
