Wow, great photos BigT. Out of all the nurseries I have dealt with that carry the Chick CharmsĀ® that is the first tags I've seen without the original name of the back of the tag. What was the name of the store your wife bought them from?
This is what the back of the tag should look like, using Mark's photo from an above post.
BigT, my wish is that you will be able to come to next years Hybridizing Clinic. I believe you would have a wonderful time being part of an amazing group of semp lovers. And, who knows, maybe even be bit by the hybridizing bug.
It takes a village to keep information flowing and make good things happen.
I'm glad you got a good laugh Lynn. Although from all I've been reading of your exploits throughout the forum threads, your being humble and modest.
All were bought, by my wife and I at Walmart. That's where the strawberry pot NoIDs came from too. All of them in our area had lot's of C.C. semps. I have a few varieties with tags that have the original cultivar on the back. TBH If not for this forum and thread I may never have known to look at the backs of the tags.
I would love to be able to attend one of Kevin's clinics. I did watch the 4 part series with him. He's probably forgotten more than I'll ever know. Hearing of some of his experiences reminded me of a grower I worked for at an exotic plants greenhouse in Milwaukee. You reminded me of him also. Everyday he would ask me, "What did you learn today?" The first time he asked me, I was taken aback, not fully understanding what he asked. He explained, "You should learn something new every day. When you stop learning, you die. Perhaps not physically, but spiritually, emotionally." From that day on, we each asked the question of the other. It wouldn't take much for me to be bitten by the hybridizing bug. As it is I have some NoID flowers that appear to have set seed. I was considering dusting a tub or two and see what develops. If nothing else it will give me some experience growing semps from seed.
Thanks again for all your kindness Lynn.
