I'm going to be honest and say that I'm not even bothering now (after having bleached my lungs AND my clothes the one year I did it).

When I DID do it, I did it for something like 20 minutes (iirc), and then I rinsed the rhizomes for at least that long afterward.

Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
