Axl Rose was welcomed to my jungle this spring. I'd apologize for the bad pun- but it was irresistible ... I wasn't expecting bloom this year, but I was pleasantly surprised that it settled in so well and bloomed. Short scapes and low bud counts, to be sure in its first season, and I'm sure it will perform better next year.
Aside from the name, I like the uf/spidery form and the rosy petals. Huge fan of bitones and this one is no exception. Its twisting sepals remind me of Axl Rose's attitude. Didn't set pods on it this year, and didn't use its pollen, so no fertility notes. Didn't get any fabulous pictures of it either...
