Thanksgiving is a special holiday for the two of us. If DH isn't working that day we share the cooking otherwise I do all of it. Our menu is simple and only varies from year to year in the desserts category.
Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls sometimes corn, and pies for dessert one he likes and one I like. The pies may be any of the following but rarely two years in a row for the same kinds. Apple, Chocolate Silk, Lemon, Pumpkin, Butterscotch or Peanut Butter. Sometimes I'll make Apple Dumplings instead of one of the pies.

My family has always done their own thing for Thanksgiving because Mom always went all out for Christmas and didn't do much for Thanksgiving. We used to go to DH's parents when they were alive and did our own Thanksgiving the day after. From our first Thanksgiving together we have always shared the cooking duties when DH didn't work. He would do the turkey and vegetables while I did all the baking. The cooking is always done on Thanksgiving Day mainly because I can't keep him out of the pies or rolls if I make them ahead of time.

I don't do Black Friday shopping ever. I'm not fond of shopping to begin with and that insanity on Black Friday is not for me.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
