My, how things do change.....
When I was small we always went north to Montgomery where we celebrated with mom's parents, brothers & their families either Thanksgiving or Christmas. Family. And lots of it. Which ever holiday we stayed home for our house was "open house" & all the friends of my parents & their families filled our house to bursting. Mom cooked most of the food but everyone brought dishes too. It was always exciting & warm feeling (the weather too --- warm! Too warm!)
But what falls away came to pass eventually.
Now it's just dh & I as like LeeAnne we are childless by choice. But that's fine as after 38 years we are so accustomed to doing our own thing that it seems strange to do anything else. We have accepted invitations a few times & while it was nice, we found ourselves missing our own celebration our own way. We are fortunate that we are best friends besides mates.
My, how things do change.....
And they will change again.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
