John & Ken, I would highly recommend both of these items to you. I have both & have found them invaluable. The book has a great feature of color index tabs so you can look up birds by their dominant color.

I would not think the 1 for SW FL is really any different than the one I have. BTW, even though I'm now in North FL, the guide has pretty much the same birds. The only difference is that I now get MORE birds than the guide indicates.
