Enjoyed your article about the red cedar, Christine. Our cedars (Ash junipers) are not held in such high esteem here. They give us allergies and take water from other natives plants!

I also learned something I didn't know about the connection of the red cedar and the name Baton Rouge. Sieur d'Iberville discovered my hometown of Biloxi, MS on his way to Baton Rouge.
