Richard, one of our dogs (a Black Lab/GSD mix) would climb into the bathtub and hide behind the shower curtain when the Fourth of July fireworks went off. (When we were getting all of those aftershocks after Loma Prieta, I'd open the refrigerator door and he'd try to climb in!
We had to block off the fireplace, because he tried climbing in there, too!)
