Thanks, Lilli. I am doing just that!
I went out to check irises, and I realized that Faithful and True has two increases growing!
I never noticed because the increases are small, behind the large fan and propped up next to a large rock. I checked plant buddies and fellow rebloomers Mariposa Autumn and Kind Candace, both no increases. As did Mariposa Autumn's other rhizome which is planted in a bed next to Earl of Essex. EoE no increases, but he is a much newer planting than MA.
Up by the downed fence, I noticed Acoma also has an increase sprouting, but only one! Both Golden Tiger and Beverly Sills had no increases either. I have given this bed a 'code' to remind me what bed it is. RP1BABSGT - Repurposed bed 1, Acoma, Bevery Sills, and Golden Tiger.
Lucy Doodle's increase in the rock garden (RCRDDLD - rock garden rock, Deborah Dances, Lucy Doodle) seems to be fine after I mistakenly broke off the very tiny increase from the mother rhizome.
I still need to plant those mums....
but, they can sit in a container for awhile I suppose.
Y'know, this 'coding' I am writing down as a track for the irises in various beds isn't too complicated so far. I need to take ID pictures as well to make it easier to confirm where they are.
Here's a few examples of the beds with iris names tracked:
HBSS2ALC - hanging basket section, section 2, Anne Lowe, Cara (SDBs).
LSBBSBBP - L-shaped bed, blue section, Blackbeard(BB), Perfection.
TB1SDMMBE - Tire bed 1, Sharp Dressed Man, Micro Burst(IB), Epicenter.
RPBCSFT - Repurposed bed 1, Cherub's Smile, Full Tide.
PP1EWCE - Plastic pot 1, Edith Wolford, Cat's Eye (SDB).
And the list just continues on. I am also putting these 'codes' in the notes of my plants in my plantlist. Is this a good strategy?
Thanks for the awesome comments, y'all!
