@daisyl Hurray! Hi Daisy! They are planted in the ground. I think it may be a lack of nutrition because even with regular watering nothing got better. I finally did a soil test and my beds were void of nutrients - imagine that!

@katesflowers I was fairly certain that it was not sun scald because some of the affected peppers were on the bottom of the plant where they were well shaded like the ones on the North side of the bed.

@RpR it Sounds to me like you and I were growing plants devoid of calcium in the soil. I save my egg shells and pulverize them into a powder that I add to the garden. It seems to be sufficient calcium for my tomatoes and watermelons to avoid blossom end rot. I will have to start eating more eggs & doing the same for the peppers! nodding
