Even though I love my plants and it has been a big hobby for me over the years I also have another hobby that I devote time to: I am a bead artist who also incorporates mixed handmade textiles and mixed media technique into my work. I have been showing for the past 6-7 years and it has been a lot of fun. I make jewelry, 3D figures, vessels, and basically anything that my imagination prompts me to make. I have never done metal smithing, that is totally beyond me, but a needle and thread I can handle LOL. I hope that there are other people who will share their artisan made creations on this thread! Needle arts (quilting, silk fusion, tatting, macrame etc) welcome! Crochet is welcome too, but Ursula already has a great thread going on that! Here are a few examples of my work: A beaded collar/bib style necklace called "Keeping Faith with the Sea"
'Shaman', a large breastplate piece that hangs in its own display case...can be worn or displayed as wall art
'Rainforest Guardian' hand fused textile cloth, heavily beaded. There is a small amethyst pyramid inside being guarded by a beautiful handmade ceramic blue poison dart frog
