I seem to have a lot more hips this yr than the last couple of yrs. I'm planning on harvesting a bunch. It's been about 5-6yrs since I did the first ones. I just stuck the whole hips in the fridge for a few months, then opened them up and planted them. One thing I did was drop the seeds in a little bowl of water. If they floated I tossed them. I think this time I will do the damp paper towels to germinate before planting them.

The seedlings I did get mostly look similar to their mamas. But I got a couple of stripeys on two different non-striped plants. They are located near a bed of stripey roses. They didn't show the stripes until the second blooming. It's weird.

Here's what seedlings I have left. Of course these are all OP seedlings:

This is a striped seedling of COUNTRY LADY

This is one from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. I'm thinking VESPER might be one of the daddies

This is a LYNN ANDERSON seedling

This is a seedling of BROADWAY. I'm tentatively calling it BROADWAY LIGHTS

And these are a couple of my seedlings by GUY SAVOY. I ended up with 3 of them, and one died, but they all are pretty much variations of Mom. Maybe more random or fewer stripes.
