My rubbermaid tubs with lotus and lilies in them looked great all summer....but I didn't think that through real well. Got up the other morning to find a coat of ice on the top! oops! *Blush*
Guess I need to put on waders and sink the pots in the pond before the tubs burst!
Hope I can salvage the tubs to use again next year. The reason I didn't leave the lilies in the pond all summer is we had a horrible drought and I had to keep pushing the pots further out each day as the pond receded. It's not really a pond, either. It's a stream that we dammed, and when we get a big rain, everything washes downstream. While the water's down, we're trying to dig out an eddy area just for the plants. Hunting season kind of got in the way of finishing that project... Angry
If I have to, I can bring the tubs into the garage and keep the plants there over the winter. How many of you do that?
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
