This will be a long post, so I apologize in advance. Just wanted to share an amazing experience I had today.

Speaking of garden guests....
I had been out photographing butterflies (shocking, I know) when I noticed unusual bird behavior. The cardinals were gathered around the feeder, but weren't going after the sunflower seed like they normally do.

Looking down, the reason why became apparent:

I have a female fox (who I refer to as Zorro) that visits frequently. This must be one of her kits.

Very cute, but the birds didn't think so. They were watching closely.

And the fox was looking back!

He (or she, gender unknown) proceeded to sit and enjoy the spilled bird seed.

After eating, the fox seemed to pose for the camera before turning away.

The birds sounded an 'All Clear' and went back to their feeder.

I figured the action was over.
But then the little fox came onto the patio.

Gave me a chance to get one last photo.
