This plant has seasons of growth and rest. Do not fertilize during the season of rest, roughly from late fall through the winter, when the plant loses its leaves. Cut back on the watering during this time, too. Let the plant tell you when it's thirsty and when it's not. When it's leafless, it's not thirsty. You might water half as often or less at that time.

Your plant will do best indoors with the most light you can possibly provide. Like a spot right in front of your sunniest south-facing window. The plant should "see" the sun for hours a day, ideally. If you are unable to provide this kind of light, start watering less right away, as preparation for your plant going dormant in the near future.
