This is the new alpha male koala showing his ''smug mug look'' in the gum tree at the front of my home. There is another younger male, but he keeps his distance.I haven't seen any females with joeys this year, but there is at least one resident female (koala).
The old male died about 2 years ago.He was a real character, growling from the trees as I went about my business.They have never done any damage to my veggie garden, feeding exclusively on eucalyptus leaves.I feel privileged to have them.
