Lots of light, like a spot right by your sunniest south-facing window. Fast draining soil, like regular potting soil mixed with an equal volume of pumice/perlite/equivalent. Water well when the soil is dry but not sooner. Do not water right after potting it up, especially if you have handled the roots (which appears to be the case). Wait a week instead. Do not overwater during winter, especially if temps are cool and the location is not very bright. Observe your plant to see how succulent/inflated the stems are when well hydrated. Be patient because it's not a fast grower.
