It took me a while to figure out how to work with this type of swap, and the whole thing, at first, seemed robotic. As a participant of Ella's piggy swaps, initially I was thinking I would take Ella's pig pen and barn door for recalcitrant swappers over a computer-managed swap any day.
So would I rather have Ella's pig pen or nftsr's software? Both. I'm enjoying the different ways in which trading can be conducted.
About pre-television times - does anyone else remember how much clearer night skies were in the late 40s, early 50s? I could see the Milky Way in Raleigh, NC, in 1952. And people talking to each other face to face on a porch at night minus cell phones? I remember the latter from my grandmother's porch across the road from the Petersham Commons in Massachusetts. By the way, if you google "dark skies" you might be able to find locations near you for star gazing.
