i received 'sorbet swirl' on 7/15/18; it's classified as bb and seems to bloom very early/early. it must be confused because we had all that heat in july and august (temps were hovering close to the hundred mark all through those months). it has cooled off considerably during the evenings and early mornings, so it thinks it must be spring. didn't notice any increases. 😕
i will have to check closely in daylight. the sleuthing was done by flashlight
while i took the dog out for her last constitutional evening walk.

:hurray: Hurray! i'm excited to see this new iris and i am hopeful that it has produced increases. Crossing Fingers! can't believe that the stalk shot up 6" in a day.

another thing to throw out: a member of my local iris society grows irises for our doorprizes and raffles.....he wants to make sure they thrive, so he feeds them epsom salts to make sure the irises stay green and healthy. (and he swears by rose food). i'll have to read more on magnesium salts.

does anyone know if it's cumulative? we have such sandy soil here, nothing sticks around too long. anyone else use epsom salts on their iris?
