It says the app is available from Apple app store, Google Play, or Microsoft. I tried Amazon apps but can't find one for Libby. The Google Play one only lists my phone as compatible, not any Kindle. So where do you get an app for Kindle books on Libby?

You would first download the Libby app and the Kindle app ( Kindle app only if you read on a device other than an actual Kindle device) from the appropriate app store for your device, which sounds like Google Play. Both apps are free.

After you have downloaded the Libby app, you must link it to a public library via your card number. Then you can download an ebook. Once you do that, the Libby app will ask you what format you prefer. Here is a good set of instructions from Libby:
