The first of my Schlumbergera seedlings bloomed today and I feel like I just had my first grandchild! LOL!

This is a cross of Limelight Dancer x Beach Dancer that I made in 2009. Seed was started on October 3, 2010. I have twenty seedlings. Of those 20 seedlings, 8 are going to bloom for sure. I have been told it's "nearly impossible" to get Schlumbergera to bloom in one year. It's a good thing I didn't know that, because it was always my expectation that I was going to get at least a few of them to bloom the first year. Thumbs up Whistling

So far, this is the only one of the eight that is yellow. The buds for this one were a cinnamon color that matured into the deep golden bloom that you see. (Like an idiot, I didn't get a picture of the color of the bud.) If I decide to keep and name this one, it will be "Keystone Cinnamon Moon."
