I spelled A. crenata with an "e" for years. I had it growing wild on my property in SC and loved it - hence my handle here. Although it was on the SC invasives list I never found it to be a problem. I lined a path to the river with it. The seeds were not easy to germinate, it seemed they did better when the birds sowed them after digesting them. I could transplant them when they were very young, 3", but anything larger would expire rapidly if I tried to move it. For me they were finicky and were never thugs. I wonder if it was just a unique strain???
