I should think soil with perlite will do. I often put some moss around the top to dress it up. And once the moss starts to break down, I usually mix it into the soil and add more moss on the top. Make sure the pot can drain. Water well, then let it dry out between waterings. In winter with the furnace on for me that means about once a week, but I do skip a week now and then. Better to under water a bit then let it stay too soggy.
