Admittedly, I didn't quite think this day through. I might have planned easier goings in the kitchen.

This morning I made French toast with bacon and sausage for the seven of us. That took some doing! I think I did 18 pieces of French toast, and I assure you this kitchen is not all that large. A warm oven was key. I also made some blueberry syrup (with blueberries I had in the freezer) which turned out to be a big hit. But warm maple syrup was also there, along with fresh fruit. It was a fine day-after brunch.

Tonight the gathering was just four of us. I made a red sauce with peppers, onions, sliced pepperoni, diced tomatoes, herbs and spices, and served that over penne, finished with a nice bit of freshly shaved parmesan. Garlic bread on the side. Wine all around for various tastes. Now done, sipping my red, having a cigar and soon to bed...especially as 2 good friends joined us for sips and chat until just now.
