The confusion, I think, is because there's the Hybrid Perpetual 'La Reine' and the Bourbon 'Reine Victoria', which some people list incorrectly as "La Reine Victoria". The Bourbon has a popular sport -- 'Mme Pierre Oger'.
@ShawnSteve -- your pic of 'La Reine' actually looks more like 'Reine des Violettes' -- or, at least, one of the roses sold as that name. I say that because there's a less-purple-more-pink one going around that may be a reversion to its sport-parent, 'Pius IX'. This one is also a little bristly, whereas the "real" RdV is mostly smooth, save for an odd prickle or two on older canes near the base. There are some other subtle differences, but that's another topic.
