On a short photography outing at a site in western Massachusetts we ran into a Park Ranger while we were marveling at what appeared to be a bunch of wild Cosmos. The Ranger was flattered by our comments because she said that one day she planted a bunch of seed because the site and soil seemed a bit "blah" and look what happened! She deserved a hug!
One of my favorite plants among another hundred or so.
