Best way to polish silver is actually easy and using things you already have on hand. Take a deep glass dish, line the bottom with alumin. foil. Add baking soda. Drop in your silver and cover with very hot (boiling?) water. You can watch it work quickly. No damage to the silver. I used to use silverware and I also collect coins, silver ones. Works !!
