I put shade cloth over tomatoes last year,
@NakedChickenFarm. Didn't get but a few tomatoes from those plants. Trouble is finding the right amount of shade cloth. Too much, they don't get enough sun, too little, it has no affect on the heat, so doesn't prolong the harvest AT ALL. ( white 50% cloth has no cooling value. Black 50% cuts out too much sun) This year they go back in total sun. At least I get lots till summer heat arrives.
