I'm sorry for the confusion Anna. I call the ginger roots 'palms' as they favor a hand. The ginger root was what I meant.

I was told years ago to plant that 'palm' horizontally, an inch or two under the soils' surface. I've heard it will bloom but have never seen the flowers on the edible ginger plant.

I am adding the pickled ginger recipe to my stash ~ thanks much Christine.
