Anna, I thought you were referring to the article, instead of Kristi's post, but both are good information!

I would just soak the ginger for an hour or two anyway before you plant it. You can put it on the counter and forget it for a while. If you plant it now, you'll definitely need to keep it indoors, or in a greenhouse. You may have better success waiting until Feb. or March when everything else is waking up, but that's just my opinion. Let us know how it goes!
