Cheryl, apparently storms can blow the seeds of those things a couple of hundred miles, because my daughter found a big one growing in the middle of the woods behind our house, and it had a sticker saying it belonged to the city of Gulfport. The only way I can think of how it ended up in the deep woods in central MS was that Katrina planted it there years ago. (Katrina was still a Cat 2 hurricane when it reached here; I never thought a storm could reach this far inland and still be a hurricane, but Katrina did!)
