In the northern mountain region in the Philippines, it is locally called Everlasting, simply because it does not seem to die off, even after plucking them and stringing them into a lei, lasts almost forever as a dried flower with very rich colors. Usually, the lei adorns the statues or images of saints inside the church or in one's altar at home.
