Two days ago I asked at a botanical garden if I could have this cutting because the stem had rotten through. I'm trying to propagate it in water but one of the two leaves is already yellowing and I'm not sure if I cut off enough of the rotten stem.

This is what it looked like two days ago before I cut off the rotten bit:

This is what it looks like now. Today I cut off the leafless stalk too.

- Should I cut off the lowest node that looks a little brown but isn't mushy?
- Would cutting it into two pieces with one leaf each improve chances?
- Would snipping the yellowing leaf in half at the thinnest part stop the yellowing?

I'm new to aroids. I bought a lot of them over the past two months and they all seem to be thriving (including another Rhaphidophora tetrasperma) but I have little experience with propagation and nursing plants back to health. Any help would be appreciated! Smiling
