Lilium dauricum seed germinates immediate hypogeal. It will first produce a tiny seed bulb, and then from that bulb a leaf will emerge.

These pics were taken today, March 21. Seeds were placed in the baggies with moist vermiculite (fine grain) at 65-68°F March 11. Seeds germinated March 18-20. Out of the 30 seeds, only too had not yet germinated in that 3 day time span. But you can see that they were already beginning to form their little bulbs, so it's time to get the planted in pots. If you pre-germinate immediate hypogeal seeds like this, it is important to plant early, and really, it's better to directly plant the seed in the pot. This way there is a lot less stress on the tiny plants.

These are the same seed I donated this year to the NALS Seed Exchange:
99-114 L. Dauricum wild seed collected from Sakhalin Island, Russia x L. Dauricum (pink overlay) from Darm Crook
Still some available if you like species lilies.
