I was born and raised in Philly, Pa. A collard never passed my lips till moving to Florida. Since then, New Year's dinner ALWAYS includes black eyed peas and collards. Wealth....never happens. But I have learned to cook YUMMY collards and I always save the pot liquer (SP?) to use as a base for soup.
