I use Neem Oil for all my insect and disease control.
I use it at 1 tsp. Per gallon. In a pump sprayer I put water in, add two-three drops of mild dish soap and then the Neem Oil.
I spray the plant all over. Up, down around over and under. Now that warmer weather is here, you could take plants outside. Once plant has dried, bring it back inside.
I spray all of my orchids under lights once a month as an insect preventative. Neem Oil is systemic too. Underlights growing can be bug heaven but if I see one, I never see it again. The residual affect of the Neem gets them every time.
I use it faithfully. My plants have absorbed the Neem over time due to the once per month program. But you have to be diligent in the beginning. You can't spray one month, Miss a month and spray two months, then miss another. Without monthly gaps, your plants will protected after 6 months or so.
I miss a month now every so often, with no ill effects. I return the next month to my monthly schedule. My orchids were constantly bothered by pests during the 9 years I spent in Florida but since Neem over the last 4 years or so, no aphids, no white scale, no mealybugs, and NO mites!!!
Now Neem is not the sweetest smelling stuff on planet earth but it works for me. Several friends of mine in Florida were skeptical at first, but with adopting my regime, they are now believers!! They report wonderful results!!!
So do you want to rid your plants once and for all or do you want to agonize over them all the time?? Try it, it works.
It stops fungal and bacterial issues as well.
