When we come back to New Mexico, usually May fifth, sometimes our grass is literally a foot tall. Growing in and around our beds. The edges of these beds are marked with river stones that disappear into the grass. The beds are randomly shaped and placed so sometimes it's hard to see where they begin and end.

The first mowing is not easy and we have had the same man do it and subsequent mowings every year. This year he missed some of the edges and we have very short foliage (1/2 inches) in several places, maybe twenty or thirty plants.

We're looking for suggestions for saving those plants.

Any ideas?

I’d rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.
