I am a new transplant (just a couple months) from the New York tri-state area, re-potting myself down here in the Stuart, Fl - Southeast FL for those who are unfamiliar- and I'm feeling kinda like a total newbie when it comes to the plants around here! It's weird!!

I am an experienced gardener - in New York City, that is. I'm used to clay soil, freezing temperatures, perennials that are annuals in that climate, and the overall joy it is to have a garden to play in. Hurray!

It's odd for me to look at trees in the landscape and not know what they are..! The family, root type, fruits, flowers, the whole nine yards..! Now all I see are PALM TREES!! Everywhere!! Grumbling

It's taken me a little bit to figure out that all those lovely herbs I grew in pots back in NY? I can actually grow here... in the GROUND!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! That makes me very, very happy!!!

Anyway! I hope you bear with me and my silly questions that are soon to come and accept any help I can offer in the spirit in which it is given. I tip my hat to you.

Many thanks in advance!!

Darrie
Moving from New York to the Treasure Coast leaves me feeling like a newbie in the Garden. Nevermind that I've been at it for 35 years! :P
