For years I've made a point of keeping my garden as butterfly friendly. I Leave the "weed" type milkweed in place for monarchs and adding the ornamental types for them as well. I see just a couple monarchs in late summer on their way back to Mexico but have never seen them in spring or summer and never get cats on the milkweeds. Can I do more than just hope to draw them in? I already have a buffet laid out that several other species take advantage of in large numbers.
