It's actually a Bromeliad (Air Plant) and we just drape it over a plastic hanger come winter.
Hang in an area w/ some sun and nice air flow.
Once a week or so spray it or soak w/ non chlorinated water.
It will turn from silver/gray to silver/green then as it dries back to s/g.
About once a month we add a very small amount of fert. to the water.
We have had some going for years now.
Come Summer hang it (out of direct noon and late sun) out in the yard.
Nature usually takes care of the rest.
