I love attracting birds to my garden ... they eat lots of insects that would otherwise be eating my plants! I love bread of any type and I've been on a bagel kick lately. I also love peanut butter and sometimes think I could survive for the rest of my life on just bread and peanut butter. Green Grin!

My pantry always has a jar of honey roast crunchy peanut butter for me as well as a jar of plain (or) plain crunchy peanut butter for the birds. I prefer the top of the bagel (the fluffier part) and I toast it and spread it with either cream cheese or peanut butter ... so whenever I toast a bagel for me I eat the top half and donate the bottom to my backyard feathered friends. I toast that half too, smother it in plain crunchy peanut butter (No honey which is bad for birds) and sprinkle bird seed over top and gently pat it into the peanut butter with my finger, then hang it on a tree branch. The birds love it! For this bird bagel I sometimes also add raisins to the seed and peanut butter mixture.
