When we took ownership of our new home, nine months ago, this cycad under a golden cane palm that was flowering. I had not noticed that a lot of nectar from the flower, had dripped into the centre of the cycad and pooled. I hosed it clean and within three months or so, the fronds as you see had browned off and have not recovered. The rest of the plant is okay. My questions are, was nectar the cause or was it something else. Will this row of fronds recover or should I cut them off without harming the plant. Advice very much appreciated.

Gave up trying to grow old gracefully, now growing old gratefully.
