They get some sun . They are under some very large Hemlocks but the branches do not start till about 10 feet up so the sun angles in. Leaf cover really does not stay the winds coming up from the lakes blows almost all of them away. I only but bulb booster in when first planted. It might be that I did not get very good bulbs , they did come from a box store. I planted a few from the garden center this fall I will have to see if they do any better.
