I've had this happen. Sometimes they get it down on the ground and then they can more easily open it, even it's got a piece of garden tie thingy to keep it closed...then they leave it lying there after removing the contents. But on occasion, the whole thing is spirited away. Now I use one really strong wire to wire it closed and another to attach it to something. I'm wondering...do they have any bigger feeders for suet that are raccoon-proof? When you live out in the country, there's more wildlife...and raccoons are much stronger and more clever than you'd think!

Next time I will know to wire the cage TO whatever I'm attaching it to.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
