A BIG thing you have going for you is that Phalaenopsis respond very well to repotting! Very well! They typically produce new roots within 4-6 weeks after repotting. Sometimes it could be more like 8 weeks.
Just keep it out of really bright light and make your regular waterings. It will do fine!! I promise.

I want them in my preferred media ASAP and when I repot, I get to see what the root system looks like. That is very important to me.
