Well it is BLAZING HOT this week with no rain. To make matters worse we are going to get our butts kicked for the next 10 days as well. Temps from 115-109 with no rain but plenty of humidity. Grumbling Plants look positively fried and dehydrated and it has just been so miserable out and energy sapping that getting out to water has been impossible. I have to do it tonight as things look so sad and desperate.

Well, that's not entirely true. What is thriving in the heat is thriving. The pole cacti put out some beautiful blooms this a.m. There were four open. I snapped a pic of one in the early dawn hours while still cool. The bumble bees were swarming as it was cool and still just a bit dark yet outside. It was nice just to admire the flower and listen to the bee's busy hum as they worked tirelessly before the sun came up.

Bums me out I have to trim two of the arms off of this plant in the fall but they are over reaching onto my neighbor's property. Oh well. I can always plant them in the back yard and with all the new arms on this plant I don't think it will harm it any especially as fast as it grows!
To boldly grow where no man has lawn before.
